Dark mode setting?

Can't seem to find any way to have the background of the viewing area be anything other than bright white. Is there any way to change this? In another vs code (what seems like pdf.js-based) extension the background was a grey, but it was one of the slow, buggy ones as mentioned in the extension description.

I really like this web extension (pdf.js-based) because it lets me read PDFs in dark mode directly in the browser. Is it possible to bring similar dark-mode functionality into the VS Code PDF extension, perhaps by adapting the approach used in this Firefox/Chrome extension?

Fixed in the upcoming release. The viewer now follows VS Code's active color theme — pdf.js's dark mode variables are applied whenever VS Code is using a dark theme, regardless of the OS preference.

Reopening — the implementation didn't work as expected. Will need more investigation.
