I don't even know

I put ioquake3DS.3dsx into the \3ds folder on my SD card. I put the ioq3 folder, with the baseq3 folder inside, into the root of the SD card. I go into the homebrew menu. I open the app. Every time I do this, it shows weird pixel stuff on the top screen and the bottom screen is red. I am using a New Nintendo 3DS XL. Is there anything i'm doing wrong?
