Description
The Digital Accessibility Strategy Lead on our team suggested the addition of a mass.gov page field that lets the content entry user enter a shorted/customized version of the descriptive portion of the page title. This could be programmatically done to just isolate the the first portion of the title tag, with the website name automatically appended afterwards. They could code it in such a way that if that custom title tag field is left blank, then whatever visible page title was entered for the page is used. This would help with pages that have longer page titles that are difficult to shorten, so the actual page title does not need to be shortened, but a shortened title tag can appear in browser and is not cut off.
