Save selection as New Work

Currently you can only save out the whole scene as new work.

Create a button along the bottom UI to 'Save Selection as New Work.

No alternative at this point

I have so many projects set up from different project managers over many years.
Moving forward I am converting these old projects into TM and some huge scenes that contain many assets and having to do each assets one by one.
It would be great to open an old scene and simply save out selection as new work to populate TM with new assets, leaving the main scene still open to keep saving out assets.

Thanks for the feedback. We will be adding this to the roadmap for the next version.
However, we must be very selective about the buttons that we are exposing into the UI and since essentially doing something selectively (meaning something not programmatically repeatable) is slightly against the idea, we will add this option elsewhere. Probably something like File -> save selection as work

That's great to hear, and location of this operation makes sense to have it per your suggestion.

@shibberd I have good news and bad news.
The good news is that the methodology is ready and will be available with the next release.
Bad news is, it will be initially available only for Maya, 3dsMax, Nuke and Katana. The required functionality already exposed to the APIs of these dccs nicely, however for others (mostly concerning Blender and Houdini) the functionality is not in the api and will require some custom implementation.
