Description
Hi,
I am attempting to run metAMOS on a 2x150bp dataset containing ~60million reads, submitting to a remote cluster using PBS. I've tried various levels of memory (250gb to 850gb), cpus (16 to 48), and threading (16 to 48) and I have been unsuccessful in assembling. Each run fails due to not enough memory, with the required memory increasing each time I increase the memory allotment. I've attempted to use the default SOAPdenovo, IDBA-UD, and Metavelvet. Given the documentation recommends starting with 128gb of RAM for this size of dataset, that the assembly fails with 850gb of RAM seems strange. I was hoping someone might have some insights about this?
Thanks so much!
Kelly
