The MetaMask Web3 object does not support synchronous methods

When using metamask, after submitting the code I see this error in the console:

Error: The MetaMask Web3 object does not support synchronous methods like eth_sendTransaction without a callback parameter. See https://github.com/MetaMask/faq/blob/master/DEVELOPERS.md#dizzy-all-async---think-of-metamask-as-a-light-client for details.

This code hasn't been updated for 2 years. I doubt it will work.

I don't have the time to look into the issues right now but I will accept PRs to fix it.
