System not reacting to the value change of conservation mode

Hi there, so the app was working just fine until I did an update on linux now it only changes the value of the conservation mode (saw it through terminal) but the system does not react to it. This used to happen before and I somehow managed to trigger it to work with acpi_call but the problem was that I wasn't able to turn it off and that's when i downloaded this extension which was able to successfully do the job. Now it doesn't work. Any idea of what is causing the issue

Here are some steps to help determine whether the issue is with the extension or with your kernel/laptop interface:

Enable conversation mode manually

echo '1' | sudo tee /sys/bus/platform/drivers/ideapad_acpi/VPC2004:00/conservation_mode

Check if the value has changed

cat /sys/bus/platform/drivers/ideapad_acpi/VPC2004:00/conservation_mode

Verify battery status
Make sure your current battery level is above the charging threshold (on some laptops it’s 60%, on others 80%). Then check the battery state using:

upower -d

You should see something like:

  battery
    present:             yes
    state:               pending-charge

Test disabling conversation mode

echo '0' | sudo tee /sys/bus/platform/drivers/ideapad_acpi/VPC2004:00/conservation_mode

Then read it again:

cat /sys/bus/platform/drivers/ideapad_acpi/VPC2004:00/conservation_mode

If the battery state changes back to charging or fully-charged, this means your laptop’s charging threshold is working correctly, and the issue is likely with the extension. We can then diagnose it further.

If the command doesn’t have any effect, the problem might be caused by a new kernel bug or a firmware update. Sometimes the embedded controller values can get corrupted. In that case, try resetting your BIOS to factory defaults. Important: note any BIOS changes you’ve made (like boot order) so you can restore them after the reset.

So literally 5 mins after posting this the conservation mode started working out of the blue. I will keep in mind what you told me if the issue reappears. Thank you for the help provided and for such a fast reply as well!
