Using vod2pod-rss without the YouTube API

I want to generate RSS feeds for the AudioBookShelf podcast player, but I don't know if the YouTube API is required for vod2pod-rss to work with YouTube video channels, and if not, what are the limitations if I don't use the API?

I know that several tools like TubeArchivist download full YouTube channels without needing YouTube API!

The limitation are in the Readme, but in short yes you can use it but you are limited to the last 15 videos of the channel and no channel picture, I suggest to grab an api key, it can be done quite easily in less than 30 minutes and it's full of tutorials online
