why the shifter function in the demo is just concatenating the zero to the y?

The shifter function here is the same as shifter function in Algorithm 1 in https://arxiv.org/pdf/2309.12252.pdf. It generates the list of y (possibly with shifted coordinates) to the non-linear function f. In ODE, y is not shifted, so it just returns [y], while in RNN, the non-linear function takes input of the previous value of y, so it shifts y by 1 and put the boundary condition on the left.
