Playback by other users and support for other pipes

Three more feature requests:

• Allow for people other than who entered the tune to play it back. This would be helpful for critiques.
• Add audio samples for pipes that are fingered like the GHB: smallpipes, border, lowlands, and Walsh shuttle pipes.
• Support for music for pipes that aren't restricted to the same notes possible on a GHB, for instance
  Uilleann and Brian Boru pipes.

The first point I agree with, and I'll look into supporting it.

WRT other audio samples, I may do this at some point in the future. It requires recording these pipes, which will need a bit of coordination.

I don't really want to get into supporting other types of pipes. Uilleann pipes for example are completely different - different gracenotes, different notation methods - and adding this is just going to grow the complexity massively. I want to keep PipeScore for GHB (and smallpipes, etc.)

I have a Walsh shuttle pipe for which I can get samples if I can get my hands on a good microphone.

If you want to record that then go ahead. For the current recordings I have samples in wav and mp3 format of each note, held for about 15 seconds, with the drones switched off, and then one long sample of just drones (a bit over a minute). Files here

What sort of environment were you in when you collected the GHB samples? That is, what was the room like?

I can't remember - I didn't consider it at the time. It was probably just my living room :) My recordings are pretty rough anyway.

It looks like playback for other people works. I'll try recording my shuttle pipes in a few days using my phone.
