Option for syntax to override abstract or global

Wouldn't it be nice if the syntax could override an abstract or global setting? Using an abstract may work for a lot of pages, but for those it doesn't work for, the option to override manually with syntax is far better than having to enable syntax for all pages, and making descriptions for all of them.
