The possibility of alternative use of the library without doubling the MUXs for a single encoder (1x4) or a number of encoders&knobes (1x32)

I want to know the author's opinion about the compatibility of his code with another MUX connection scheme. Or give recommendations on reorganizing the code recoding according to my scheme. because I am also considering upgrading an already completed device with 32 encoders, adding another 32 BTNs. The device itself is made on the principle of connecting MUX in this way: encoder #1_4 connect to 1 MUX#1 and so on... (see the schematic diagram in the appendix)
