App.js is not an unminified version of app.min.js

App.js seems to be a much older version of the minified app.min.js.

Is there an unminified version of app.js that is up to date?

I think what you are looking for is the js files inside src/js/. When you run the gulp command it will watch this file for changes and then pipe it through browserify to create the app.js and app.min.js files.
