Photon propagation error - no valid edges.

Can somebody explain the meaning of this error message, and possible ways to avoid it? It originates in solver.c, where the photon is supposed to choose the next edge to follow (or something like that). I'm seeing this error in lime-1.9.3 when I increase par->radius beyond a certain threshold.

Hi all, I currently have the same problem with the 1.9.5 version of lime-rt. I am trying to perform the radiative transfer of tracer particles coming from a RAMSES simulation. The model is set as follows: I select all tracer particles that lie inside a sphere of radius 400 AU (8500 particles). Therefore, par->radius is set to 400 au and par->pIntensity is set equal to 8500. Is this correct? The sinkPoints are set to 10000 as suggested in the docs. The minimum scale is set to par->minScale = 0.1 AU as it was the spatial resolution of the simulation. The grid is provided with the par->pregrid parameter. While the Building grid process ends with an [ok], it immediately says "Photon propagation error - no valid edges". The data points provided by lime in the .vtk code look fine. Now, some areas are not well traced by tracer particles, could this be an issue? I have tried including random points in such areas and the error message is the same. I have no clue how to deal with this error message. Any suggestion or advice is very appreciated. Thank you so much

I still haven't worked out exactly what causes this, but it seems to be grid-related. If I make par->minScale larger, then the error goes away.

Hi Martin, and thank you for your comment. I have tried increasing the minScale but I keep having the same errors. I'll keep trying new things. Thanks!
