Steps to reproduce issue
- Open Admin panel -> go to Stores > Settings > Configuration
- In the left panel, expand Customers and choose Customer Configuration
- Expand Expansion selector the Password Options section
- Enter '2' in the Max Number of Password Reset Requests field
- Tap 'Save' -> Flush Cache Storage
- Open website -> Tap 'Sign in' -> Tap 'Forgot password' -> Enter email and tap 'Send'
- Tap 'Sign in' -> Tap 'Forgot password' -> Enter email and tap 'Send'
- Tap 'Sign in' -> Tap 'Forgot password' -> Enter email and tap 'Send'
- Wait hour -> Tap 'Sign in' -> Tap 'Forgot password' -> Enter email and tap 'Send'
Expected result
- Email is sent
- Email is sent
- Error message appears
- Email is sent
Actual result
The Max Number of Password Reset Requests was not respected. Multiple emails were sent.
