My initial thought is to have gifs play in a canvas element from now on and see if there's a performance hit. I don't believe there should be since I believe it'd be gpu accelerated and easier to pause when out of view.
Steps:
- Make gif play in canvas element
- Make hardcoded subsection loop
- Have temp sliders control the loop
- integrate with edit-video Ui
