Report confusion: total or per

The default timebudget.report output text is ambiguous. When it says "###ms for ##calls" is that reporting ms per call or total ms across all calls?

The default .report() call returns averages per call while the per-cycle report returns total for the number of calls. This is inconsistent and confusing.
