An error occurs in a component of this program

An error occurs in a component of this program when going to File, Open. A new window opens up telling you to select the data folder and if I do, I get the error saying:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

Index was outside the bounds of the array."

Btw don't mind me still using Windows 7

It also happens when after you get the error you go back to File, then Open but for the second or any other later times of trying this, you get the error instantly after clicking "Open", without selecting any folders.
