Ava voice assistant can't pause its own media player

So, this is a really annoying behavior where, if I am playing music on the sendspin or home assistant media player entity for the device running ava, and then I say the wake word in that room and tell it to pause, because the music was briefly paused by the voice assistant upon wake word activation, there's no playing media player when the voice assistant goes to check, but as soon as it's finished, it resumes playback, so it's effectively unpausable music.

Is there a solution to this? I believe the Voice Assistant PE resolves this by rather than pausing, ducking the background audio so it can more clearly hear the audio of the voice command. Is that solution feasible here?

What version are you using? My SendSpin device doesn't report it's paused during a voice interaction. I believe this was rectified a few versions back to dip the volume instead of pause.

Make sure all devices are listed in the same area/room

Just to add on to this, the SendSpin audio dipping doesn't actually dip the send spin device volume either, it seems to dip an intermediate volume control so it doesn't effect volume controls via voice also
