Thank you for your interest in our dataset, we are glad to hear that you’re exploring mb-boulder_seg.

All datasets included in Mars-Bench are based on previously published, publicly available datasets. Our contribution was to curate, standardize, and reorganize them where necessary to ensure consistency and usability across the benchmark. We carefully reviewed each dataset and cleaned or restructured it when needed.

The boulder dataset is derived from the publicly available dataset described in the following publication:
Automatic Characterization of Boulders on Planetary Surfaces From High-Resolution Satellite Images You can find the detailed annotation methodology and the definition of "boulder" in that paper.
