Difinition list not shown

Definition list doesn't works.
In some markdown viewer is possible to have definition list i this way:

Apple
:   Pomaceous fruit of plants of the genus Malus in
    the family Rosaceae.

Orange
:   The fruit of an evergreen tree of the genus Citrus.

that is rendered as below:

Apple

Pomaceous fruit of plants of the genus Malus in the family Rosaceae.

Orange

The fruit of an evergreen tree of the genus Citrus.
