What we have now (the javadoc style) is what the default is for com.mycila:license-maven-plugin. I can override that, but I would have thought that the standard would have been what they implemented. So, I'm not convinced that you are asking for something non-standard.

Please file an issue with mycilla. But we should update, it is NOT standard. You can point them to Java, Open JDK classes as examples
