Ableton 10 can't open the file

Downloaded, and when I try to add to midi track nothing happens.
I would be great to check it

You downloaded it - I'm assuming you installed it into Ableton Live so you can see it in Live's browser?

I'm not sure how to diagnose it without more details.

Sorry, I don't see a file. When you download a max for live device, you double click it to install into Ableton Live. Then you should see it in the Live browser. You can then drag it onto a track.
