Would love to see a BS3 version of this using FontAwesome icons.
Might even mock it up if thats of interest?

I'd be interested to check that out. It seems like it would make sense to use font-awesome if it were already being included on the page, but maybe just .svg images otherwise since it might not be worth it to load the whole font for just few icons.

I have one idea for how this could be improved upon. Currently the QuickBar snippet uses a hard coded 'quickbar' chunk

By making that chunk configurable, you could include your own chunk instead so it could included whatever icons or design changes you wish
