Slows down typing

Typing in Sublime after installing this plugin became much slower. I type something and, after finish, I can see the letters being printed one by one on the screen.

My thought is that the plugin needs to set up a delay to search autocomplete suggestions. It could reduce the effect on typing.

I know this is nearly a year old but the issue is still very noticeable. Today I decided to stop using the plugin altogether due to how slow and unenjoyable it made typing my code.

Bumping this, as well, still a major issue. If there is any possibility of not using the UI thread for accessing the project index, that would probably be a feasible solution. Seems the main thread gets blocked until suggestions are available and they're fetched immediately when pressing a key.

Thanks for the heads-up, @jotson. Which editor are you using now? My guess would be a plugin-complete vim, though personally, I always had issues with indexing and indices getting lost on larger projects.

Could you leave some directions on a possible solution, maybe? Some of my thoughts the original author may be able to answer easily were:

1. Is look-up through the index done on each key press (or which event callback are they using)?
2. Is look-up done synchronously, on the main thread?
3. Is index creation done asynchronously?

I honestly don't remember much about this code. The completion lookup code should only run when the editor requests it. There's a thread in there but just during index creation. I'm using JetBrains PhpStorm now for PHP work.
