Shutter BT button not recognized

Hi. Looking for a cheaper and functional alternative to Zwift Click2 or Cycplus BC2, I purchased a very low-cost (5USD) BT RC for activating the shutter on a phone (without the camera running, it increases/decreases the volume, so it would seem ideal for virtual shifting).
Unfortunately, the remote is not found/recognized in the app - I checked on BikeControl on Android and Windows. The phone/laptop connects to this ABShutter3 device without any problems and works.
Below is some data on how the device is identified on an Android phone, for whatever it's worth.
Can anything be concluded from this as to why it is not being found? Too cheap? ;-) Can I provide any further details somehow? I will just add that the HP BT mouse is also not being found (I don't know if it should be?).

Can you try enabling local control on Android, so accessibility permission is given? That way the Android app can receive a lot more events - just not sure if that will include the hid events of your device

Wow, thanks for such quick response! However, not sure what you meant by "enabling local control"? Sorry, not android guy at all... Some setting of permissions for Bikecontrol app? Or some general setting of android?

In the Trainer tab (called like the trainer app you chose) you should see a connection method called "local".

If you enable that you should be asked to give BikeControl the accessibility permission

OK, I've set the permission for bikecontrol, however it didn't help, my BT RC is not found/recognized at all by the app - in controllers tab it keeps “scanning devices” and no controllers are found.

BikeControl generally cannot directly connect to hid Bluetooth devices as it's blocked by the operating system on all platforms. The HID events are also getting prioritized by the system itself and some events cannot be detected at all (such as volume keys) without the accessibility permission

No feedback from BikeControl when buttons pressed, generally, no controller-related functions (such as key mapping) are active; the application treats it as if no controller is available at all.
