linkify links in the format www.xxxx.xxx (no http://)

It would be nice if it could linkify links that do not contain the protocol specifier (http://). To me it would be sufficient if it just checked for the www.xxx.xxx address scope and then linkify them to http://
Similar could be done for ftp.xxx.xxx URLs that could be linkified to ftp://
