Questions about media library usage and notify

From the web interface I can see an interesting "medialib" section, I can also see some code related to it but I have no idea how to use it.

1. How to populate this sqlite database ?
2. The media library is usable from the SDL UI or only from the web UI and Gmu command line client ?
3. Does it require an additional module/library (.so) or is it contained in the main binary ?
4. Is there a way to know if the media library feature is enabled in my current binary ?

And I have a similar question about the notify module :

5. is it used to create toaster on the OS ?
6. Or is it used to notify GMU itself of some events ?

The media library has always been an experimental feature, that is currently only usable from the web interface and the command line client. It needs to be explicitly enabled at compile time by using the --enable medialib flag when running the configure script, because if is an experimental feature. The only way to add to the library is via the gmuc command line interface.

If that feature has been enabled and Gmu has been started from a terminal, it will print information about the media library such as medialib: Opening medialib....

The notify module is used for showing information about the current track. Whenevery a new sing starts, it will show such notification. This is mostly useful when running Gmu on a device with some sort of desktop environment, not so much when Gmu runs in fullscreen mode. How exactly those notifications look like, depends on the OS/desktop environment in use. It usually looks like a bubble shown in the top right corner for a brief period of time.
