Needs update for new permissions_roles table structure

Hi John - I know this is only tested with 2.1 - any plans to update for 2.5+?

With the changes to the database structure, the plugin activation fails on adding 'simplegroups' to the new "roles" table. Adding the entries manually results in Framework Error when trying to add/update group:

system/libraries/ORM.php [354]:
The settings property does not exist in the Role_Model class.

I don't have any immediate plans to change anything. I'm going to wait
until 2.5 is a little more stable. Though that being said, if someone
needs it for something let me know.

Also, are there any plans to make a helper class, or role API, so that
3rd party code isn't affected by changes in implementation details?

Reviving my project again, I am now getting errors with 2.6.1:

Anyway, I could really use this functionality - but if you still don't have plans to update, it seems that https://github.com/rjmackay/Ushahidi-plugin-partners/ might have similar results... (if only I could get it to work ;)

Looks like Robbie's plugin was never completed... Meaning, I need to get to hacking. If you have plans to update for 2.7 (or even later revisit for v3) please let me know how I can assist with your efforts (rather than duplicate them)

Having the same issue as Ibell. Also using 2.6.1. A client of mine would like to use this, so it would be great if you manage to fix this. Although I'm new to github and ushahidi, I'm an experienced PHP programmer. Maybe I could fix it if you point me in the right direction? Unless it's a lot of work.. (time constraints..)

Yup, seems like a minor problem. For anyone who's interested, change the following lines in /libraries/simplegroups_install.php :

Then make sure to add the permission 'view reports' for simplegroups manually in ushahidi.

Ideally, the install script should be adjusted to retrieve the id of the simplegroups role, then add the permission for viewing reports in the permissions_roles table. But I'm not familiar with the classes used by ushahidi and/or this plugin, and I don't have time to figure it out atm. Besides, even if I did, I doubt I can upload the changes without permission? (git n00b..)
