display - fit and slide option

Hello.
Great job, fantastic tool, I've been looking for one like this for a long time.
It would be fantastic if you could add another option to adjust the image to fit the display. I've seen this option in some gallery/slideshow apps.
The idea is to fit the photo in one dimension and in the other dimension (the one that doesn't fit all in the frame) moves uniformly while being displayed.
Example: 1200x800 display. 2000x1500 photo.
The photo is pre-scaled to 1200x900.
The 1200 dimension fits entirely within the display, and the 900 dimension moves slowly by 100px during the display time so the entire photo is finally presented.
So the entire display is used, you can see whole photo during display time and no need for background fill.

It's an interesting idea that would probably also be fun to implement 😄

I'm thinking if the logic would have to be more involved than this "pan once over the duration of the display time", as I see some potential issues with that:

• The movement will be really slow for image that are shown for a long time
• The center of the image will always be shown at the same time during the display time. (e.g. the "best" part could be usually shown in the middle of the day while you are at work)

I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are on this?

You could make everything configurable by adding a bunch of extra options, but I'm also very keen on keeping everything simple.

An option that comes to my mind is to have a "maximum" pan time. So that for instance not Image would take more than an hour to pan across. Another solution - perhaps combined with a maximum time - could be to randomize the starting position.

This isn't my own idea. I saw this solution in a tool like this:

I still use it to this day on my old tablet. Unfortunately, the project is abandoned.
This option probably won't be very useful in situations where the photo is displayed for a very long time. My frame settings are set to display next photo every 15 seconds, and then it works very well. It gives the slideshow an extra dynamic feel. Panoramic photos displayed this way also look great.
