Matlab crashing when running test_matleap.m

Thank you for sharing this code!
I am trying to run Matleap on a Windows10 system, with R2022b and MinGW-64 6.3. LeapMotion version is ultraleap-hand-tracking_v5.17.1-2023.11.16_windows.
After I copied the Leap.dll to the same directory as the mex-file, I ran the test_matleap file, and everytime Matlap stops working after
INIT STARTEDmatleap version 4.0

I tried this with multiple computers and the crashing problems were the same across them. The other version of matleap, the matleap_mater, had the same issue.

Could you please help me with this problem? Please let me know if you would need more information.

I haven't maintained this in a long while, and I haven't kept up at all with the Leap Motion sensor. I still have an early version -- have they released sensors recently?

I'm glad you might find it useful. I think I would struggle to help you with this one, as I'm not a windows user currently, and don't have access to Matlab on a Windows machine.

I'll attempt to use it on my Mac, but I'm not optimistic, nor do I have a ton of free time to devote to the project.

Which leap sensor are you using?

Which leap sensor are you using?
I'm using Leap Motion Controller, which is the 1st generation of that sensor (I assume it's the same version matleap is meant for?).

It would be great if you could help me to check if the code works on a Mac! Thank you so, so much for making time for me. Your help means a lot to me and is very appreciated. I'm trying to adapt matleap for my research project and regretfully don't have a strong coding background.

Ok, thankfully that's the same version I have. I could not help you if you were attempting to use a newer sensor.

It'll be a few days, as that sensor is in a box of unused human interface devices. Poke in a few days and see if I managed to make progress.

@IdrilH I'm struggling to find the software for the first Leap Motion sensor for MacOS. Can you still find it? I can only find for the second version, which I do not own.

I'm sorry, I don't think I can help solve this problem. The version of the API that was used in matleap is dead, and I cannot find a version of the API to install. I do not have time to develop a version of matleap using v5.

I believe this PR should be closed, unfortunately. Indeed, this repo is unmaintained. sadly, API rot got this one. it was cool while it lasted.
