Step 1 Walkthrough:

Infrastructure Provisioning Walkthrough

I have provisioned the core infrastructure for the Agentic Librarian project using Docker Compose. This setup includes a PostgreSQL database with pgvector for semantic search and an MLFlow server for experiment tracking.

Changes Made

Infrastructure Files

• docker-compose.yml: Orchestrates the database and MLFlow services.
• .env.example: Provides a template for configuration variables.
• init-db.sql: Ensures the pgvector extension is enabled automatically.

Project Memory

• key_facts.md: Updated with port mappings.
• issues.md: Logged the infrastructure setup.

How to Verify

Since Docker is not available on this machine, please follow these steps on a machine with Docker:

1. Initialize Environment:

   copy .env.example .env

2. Start Infrastructure:

   docker compose up -d

3. Verify Postgres & pgvector:

   docker compose exec db psql -U librarian -d agentic_librarian -c "\dx"

   Confirm that vector is listed as an installed extension.
4. Verify MLFlow:
   Access http://localhost:5000 in your browser.

Next Steps

Now that the infrastructure is defined, we can proceed to:

1. Implement SQLAlchemy models and connection management in Phase 1, Step 2.
2. Set up DVC for data tracking.
