GTIL League Rules & Structure

League Structure

Tiers & Splits

GTIL operates on a three-tier system with promotion and relegation:

Tier Position Range Split Name Drivers
Tier 1 Positions 1–14 Split 1 Top 14
Tier 2 Positions 15–28 Split 2 Middle 14
Tier 3 Positions 29–41 Split 3 Bottom 13

Promotion & Relegation

  • Bottom 3 of Tier 1 → Relegated to Tier 2
  • Top 3 of Tier 2 → Promoted to Tier 1
  • Bottom 3 of Tier 2 → Relegated to Tier 3
  • Top 3 of Tier 3 → Promoted to Tier 2

Moves occur at the end of each season (post-Grand Final).


Points System

Standard Points Distribution

Multipliers

  • Sprint Race: 1× (standard points)
  • Race 100: 2× (double points) — 50 minutes, 100% race distance
  • Double Points Rounds: 2× (specified in schedule)
  • Triple Points Round (R6 - Monza):

Example: Double Points Race (Position 1)

Standard: 25 points Double: 50 points


Race Formats

Sprint Race

  • Duration: ~20 minutes
  • Format: Short race, standard points
  • No tire wear/fuel strategy required

Race 100

  • Duration: ~50 minutes
  • Format: 100% race distance
  • Double points
  • May require tire wear and fuel strategy

Double Points Round

  • Duration: ~25–35 minutes
  • Format: Extended race
  • 2× points multiplier

Car Regulations

Gr.3 (GT3)

  • Weight: 1,200–1,400 kg
  • Power: 500–600 HP
  • Balance of Performance (BoP) active

Gr.4 (GT4)

  • Weight: 1,100–1,300 kg
  • Power: 350–450 HP
  • BoP active

Gr.1 (Prototype)

  • Hybrid and non-hybrid variants
  • LMP1 / Hypercar class

Special Car Restrictions

Some rounds have specific car restrictions (see schedule):

  • No BMW (R3 - Dragon Trail Gardens)
  • No Citroen/Genesis (R4 - Sardegna A)
  • German make only (R7 - Nürburgring GP)
  • American make only (R10 - Road Atlanta)
  • Japan make only (R15 - Fuji Speedway)
  • MR drivetrain only (R14, R17 - Mount Panorama, Yas Marina)

Racing Etiquette & Penalties

General Conduct

  1. Clean Racing — No intentional contact or weaving
  2. Defensive Lines — One move only, no blocking
  3. Corner Exit — Leave space for overtaking car
  4. Blue Flags — Yield to faster drivers when lapped

Penalties

Infraction Time Penalty Points Deduction
First-corner contact +5s Warning
Blocking / weaving +10s -5 pts
Dangerous re-entry +15s -10 pts
Revenge contact +30s -25 pts
Repeat offenses Disqualification -50 pts

Penalty Review

All incidents reviewed by stewards post-race. Appeals must be submitted within 24 hours of results posting.


Race Weekend Procedure

Pre-Race (Day of Event)

  • Room Opens: 30 minutes before race time
  • Qualifying: 10-minute session, grid set by fastest lap
  • Formation Lap: 1 lap, no overtaking until start line

During Race

  • Pit Stops: Optional for Sprint/Race 100 (no limit)
  • Tires: Compounds per track rules
  • Fuel: Unlimited, must complete race distance

Post-Race

  • Results: Posted within 1 hour
  • Stewards Review: 2–4 hours
  • Final Results: Published after review

Connection & DNF Policies

Connection Issues

  • Pre-race disconnection: Can rejoin if within 5 minutes of qualifying start
  • During race: No rejoin — DNF awarded
  • Multiple DNFs: May result in tier demotion at season end

DNS (Did Not Start)

  • Notify league admin at least 1 hour before race
  • No penalty for up to 3 DNS per season
  • 4+ DNS → Tier demotion consideration

League Administration

Responsibilities

  • Race Director: Oversees race day operations, penalty reviews
  • Stewards: Review incidents, apply penalties
  • Tier Managers: Manage promotions/demotion, driver communication

Communications

  • Primary: Discord server (GTIL League)
  • Results: Posted in #race-results channel
  • Discussions: #general channel

Code of Conduct

  1. Respect all drivers — No harassment or toxic behavior
  2. Accept penalties gracefully — Appeals process is fair and transparent
  3. Communicate delays — Notify admin if unable to attend
  4. No external tools — Use only in-game aids allowed by GT

Violations

First offense: Warning Second offense: Points deduction Third offense: Suspension Severe violations: Permanent ban
