wkhtmltopdf discontinued

Describe the bug
Development on dependency wkhtmltopdf has been discontinued. Installation is blocked on Mac. Sadly I don't have a suggested fix.

To Reproduce
On Mac:

% brew install --cask wkhtmltopdf
Error: Cask 'wkhtmltopdf' has been disabled because it is discontinued upstream! It was disabled on 2024-12-16

The same issue occurs with a different library. It recommends downloading it via Terminal and running the installer manually.

Can you check if this works as an alternative:
curl -L https://github.com/wkhtmltopdf/packaging/releases/download/0.12.6-2/wkhtmltox-0.12.6-2.macos-cocoa.pkg -O
installer -pkg wkhtmltox-0.12.6-2.macos-cocoa.pkg -target ~
