Current version of .NET in this project is now deprecated. Please change to .NET 4.8
Yes, .NET Framework 4.0 has been deprecated and is no longer supported by Microsoft.
- .NET Framework 4.0 reached end-of-life (EOL) in January 2016.
- Microsoft only supports the latest version of the .NET Framework, which is .NET Framework 4.8 (as of July 2025).
- Older versions, including 4.0, do not receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical support.
Recommendation:
If you have applications running on .NET Framework 4.0, you should upgrade to .NET Framework 4.8 or migrate to modern .NET (.NET 8/9) for continued support and security.
