Before this gets too deeply integrated, I would suggest considering an organization scheme that might include a directory structure that looks like:

• instruments
• atmosphere
• radiative_transfer
• test_data

It's not absolutely necessary, but would help us keep track and probably make this more friendly :-).

@pgbrodrick That's a good idea! I was thinking about something similar as well. However, the current structure facilitates the integration of the downloaded data files into the ISOFIT root directory, so that the source code doesn't need to be changed. On the other hand, we could certainly consider some restructuring in the future, involving updates to how ISOFIT points to these files in template_construction.py.
