Feature request: Alternatives to foamDictionary

foamDictionary is used because it knows the openfoam dictionary syntax, i.e. "parameter value;" dictionaries, subdictionaries etc.
An option could be to enable switch to other ways of changing parameters, e.g. using sed, which would allow to change parameters also in python scripts and other files not following the openfoam dictionary syntax.
