App not building

I cloned the repo, ran npm install and the npm start. The build failed with:

ERROR in node_modules/rxjs/internal/types.d.ts(81,44): error TS1005: ';' expected.
node_modules/rxjs/internal/types.d.ts(81,74): error TS1005: ';' expected.
node_modules/rxjs/internal/types.d.ts(81,77): error TS1109: Expression expected.

I've created a pull request with the fix (update typescript version from ~2.7.2 to ^2.8.0

• Change rxjs version to "rxjs": "6.3.3"
  run npm update
  and then npm start again

@univentuser, I solved it not by updating rxjs, but by updating typescript.

Also,

• App does not load with latest SystemJS version "systemjs": "^6.2.5",
• works only with "systemjs": "^0.21.4",
