</header>
<p>We are an entirely student run volunteer organization. Our program seeks
to inspire students to pursue STEM through engaging presentations and hands-on
activities and labs. We volunteer at Carolyn Clark Elementary School every
other Wednesday.

</header>
<p>IST was founded in September 2015 by three current juniors at EVHS with the aim of inspiring students to expore science, technology, engineering, and math related fields. We have a deep passion for STEM, and wanted to give back to our community through this program.</p>

<h2>Vivian Du</h2>
<p>Vivian is an 11th grader at EVHS. She enjoys all sciences, especially chemistry, and the hands-on aspects of it. Besides being passionate about science, she enjoys creative writing, playing the flute at her school’s wind ensemble, and practicing piano. She aspires to pursue a medical career in the near future.</p>

<h2>Michelle Li</h2>
<p>Michelle is a junior at EV who loves solving challenging problems. If she's not working on algorithmic programming or competitive math problems, she can be found creating projects with code (such as this website!). She is a webmaster of her school's speech and debate club and newspaper club. In addition to being involved in STEM, Michelle loves to attend debate tournaments.</p>

<h2>Sindhu Iyengar</h2>
<p>Sindhu is an 11th grader at Evergreen Valley High School. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting and swimming. She also loves spending time debating for her high school’s speech and debate team. Her love of science inspired her to start this program.</p>

<h2>Our Program</h2>
<p>Integrated Science and Technology aims to inspire students to pursue STEM in a unique, hands-on approach. Each session consists of three hands on components: an engaging demonstration to interest students, a presentation about a relevant STEM topic, and a lab experiment to allow students to apply the knowledge they have learned.
<br><br>
Some of our previous labs include physical and chemical changes with lava lamps, chemical reactions with gel and salt, and biological compounds with a fruit DNA extraction lab.</p>
