Extensions are stripped on import

When document names contain periods, the importer assumes that the substring after the last period is an extension, and not part of the document name. In some scenarios, this assumption does not make sense, especially for import from PAULA: since the documents are directories, periods in the document names are intended parts of the document name.

Is it possible to either:

1. Make an optional setting to not strip extensions, and/or
2. Make the default behavior for PAULA import be to not strip?
