Error 500 trying to access a site that has invalid https certificate

I need to access a crappy website that restrict CORS and has invalid SSL certificates, but fails with error 500... any clue?

Similar issue, i get the error Error: self signed certificate in certificate chain.

Would be nice if there was a way to turn off valid certificate checks. For internal networks self signed certificates are fine.
