How do you get lora packet delivery ratios?

Hi,

How do you get the PDR results on paper "Scalability Analysis of Large-Scale LoRaWAN Networks in ns-3"? Especially for Fig. 9, 11, 12, 13 and Table III, IV, V, VI.

I tried to run this ns-3 module with following command which I think enables all the available traces. But it didn't give me the results on the paper.

What am I missing?

It is best to contact the LoRaWAN module maintainer Jetmir Haxhibeqiri jetmir.haxhibeqiri@ugent.be directly. However, he is on holiday at the moment so may not answer immediately. Below is already a first answer that may help you:

In order to find the PDR you have to make the ratio between the number of packets that were send to the network by all devices and the number of packets that were correctly received by the gateway. For these you have to parse the file xxx-trace-mac-packets.csv. The packets that are actually sent towards network are all those packets that have the "TraceSource" set to "MacSentPkt" and "DeviceType" 1 (for end nodes) and all the actually received packets are those packets that have the "TraceSource" set to "MacRx" and the "DeviceType" 0 (for GW).

The PDR you mentioned below is for UNC messages, when it comes to CON messages, MacRx(0)/MacSentPkt(1) doesn't work. So, could you tell us how to get the PDR for CON messages(figure 10)?

Hi Floris,

I have read your python script, I find something about pdr:
dr_delivered = data_rate_stats[data_rate_index][0]
dr_undelivered = data_rate_stats[data_rate_index][1]
dr_tx = dr_delivered + dr_undelivered
dr_pdr = dr_delivered/dr_tx if dr_tx > 0 else 0
Does it mean the pdr for CON messages is macRx(0)/macTx(1)? However, I could not get the results in figure 10.
