quietly download NCEP data?

I wonder if there is a way to quietly downlaod NCEP data, stopping the 'downloading' window popping up - which stops the user doing anything else in any other R window.

Not sure if this is a rnoaa or ncdf4 issue...

The popup progress bar is initiated by NCEP.gather which is used within microclima::get_ncep. There doesn't seem to be any option to turn off the progress bar, as it appears to be assigned in the worked functions that NCEP.gather calls.
