[Wii] Resolution randomly changing when screen goes dark or changes in some way

Title is self explanatory, whenever screen goes dark or mildly changes the resolution changes as well and it's causing the signal to get interrupted, using the AVE-HDMI Kit on a Wii, It was working before and now it suddenly is like this. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Monitor on the left is Analog via Retrotink 5X, works fine no problem. right is Digital HDMI out straight to the monitor.

and yes my Wii is set to 480p mode

Edit: Actually I've seen a similar problem. I bet your WiiConnect24 is turned on.

Turn your console ON, then hold the power button (on the console) for about 4 seconds until the led goes red. Then turn the console ON again and see if the problem is fixed. If yes then you should turn WiiConnect24 off from the Wii settings. I guess this problem should be fixed in the latest version but my Wii had similar problem with WiiConnect24 turned on.

I am not an expert but 670x912 is a weird resolution. Have you tried to reset to the default gcvideo settings? Plug GameCube controller to player 1 and hold L+R+X+Y+Start for more than 3 seconds. If you can't do that hold the IR configuration Button and press the OK button with the remote. The settings won't last after reboot you have to save them if this fixes your issue.

670x912 input resolution is a clear indication of a problem. If it's not WiiConnect24-related, check your wiring - VData 0 may have a problem. You could with the diagnostics mode in the firmware update mode, but you need to start the updater.dol on the console because the diag mode needs its test pattern to properly check the VData lines.

Check my Wiring in what way? I didn't install the mod on my Wii so I don't want to open it and mess something up.

It should have said "Test pattern detected" if there are no problems, but "xx mismatches found" is an indication that the signals get slightly corrupted between the Wii and the FPGA on the mod board.

It is likely that this can only be fixed by opening up your Wii and re-soldering the connection between the mod and the Wii board.

damn that really sucks, is there really no other way to fix this?
