Downgrade BitFunx 3.1 to 2.4

I've seen various threads talking about black screen problems when changing resolution in the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II and III games on Gamecube. I'd like to know if it's possible to upgrade my BitFunx to an earlier firmware version (2.4c or 2.4d)? If so, how do I go about it?

I'm pretty sure that the only way to downgrade is to manually program it using a JTAG programmer or similar. Are you switching the resolution to progressive scan? If so, you might have some luck by forcing the game to run in 480p through Swiss instead. Also, there should be a "crop 486 to 480" option that you could try, since some games run in that odd resolution (which isn't supported by all TVs, and could cause the black screen that you're describing). "Fix resolution" may also help.
