try another approach to bundling #159

Description

@humanchimp

stable was designed to work with rollup. It works fairly well, by using an approach which involves a bundler, a runtime, and also runners. It was designed to be self contained, and it is, but on the other hand, it's fairly vertical and complicated.

The idea behind canter is that we should do as much as possible at build time, and try to avoid some of the complications of stable. It will use the stable framework, but will perform a more significant compile time transformation rather than relying on both a compile time transformation and a runtime hydration step.

Goals of canter:

  • Help stable by offering a simpler approach to its hardest problem.
  • Support incremental compilation from day one.
  • Become a dependency of a future iteration of stable.
