Export / Import history remove photos

All photos taken with bêta version are lost

• same story if you switch to another phone

Maybe you should record in à low resolution each photo to limit size of exported file, but should be included in export/import feature.

Maybe xml could be better than json 🤔.
Then a database management (clean old records, remove old photos...) can be imagine to not have, a few months à huge huge amount of data to manage in memory...

how about cloud storage ? that would be complex for me but ig worth it ? or im thinking . Convert images to base64 and include them directly in the JSON export . xml is not my type so idk much about it .

I don't how bitmaps are managed within memory, but be carefull, image size can be huge...

My recommandation would be to resize to a very small resolution (enough to recognize the food on the smart phone, but small enough to limit the size of exported file with hundred of picture) 🤔

Maybe 500px for max size (width or height) could be a good starting point...

@Philoul but in bigger phones or in web view when you click on the detail view it shows the image . Like in this larger view image going to look bad if going to use some low res .

Nobody will show image within a debug view in a computer 😉.
This kind of app is only used in a smartphone so with small screen.

Here it's just mathematic:

• size of one photo is about 5mb
• if you take 5 photo per day it's about 25mb
• 3months of photo is more than 2gb of data...

It's just impossible to keep image size full res. So image size recorded for the app or exported should not be more the a few kb. I would say between 1kb and 5kb, not more otherwize exported data will not be manageable (too too big file) 🤔

Additional comment :
Within my phone (samsung A40), when I open the history tab, I don't see immediatly the photos, it takes between 5 to 10s to see them arriving one by one...
This suggest heavy files managed in the app with a long time to load and show the image...
With small images, it could be much more quicker to see them when you open history tab.

Sure my phone is not the latest generation and most powerfull phone but several users can have old phones with few memory...
