Investigate dependency between gallery lightbox and mobile-apps-article-templates

For some reason, in iOS, the caption for images in the lightbox view used mobile apps templates (example change). Everything else in this view is native.

Is this still the case, and if so, what change do we (or apps experience) need to make to ensure the lightbox is no longer dependent on templates?
