this is confusing, right now agent generated code has co-authored with section, I don't see why we should strip it and not preserve it.

The AI disclosure checkbox in the PR template exists to make it easy to comply with the CONTRIBUTING.md transparency requirement — just check the box if you used AI assistance. It's not a gate that blocks PRs. The intent is that human reviewers know whether to calibrate their review differently (e.g., checking for hallucinated function names, phantom imports, or confident-sounding wrong answers).
