Crashes with Kernel 4.9 and newer

Hi,
I had this module working for years with an other server with USB 2.0 and Kernel 3.x.x. I recently update to a newer server with USB 3.0 and Kernel 4.9.x

The module compiles fine, works for 5 - 40days without issues and then crashes. As soon as I unload the module and reload the module everything is fine again.

I have the feeling that one should port the driver to newer Kernel. I have started to learn how to create drivers, but while I am trying, maybe someone with more insight could modify the code?

Can you try using the new i2c-dln2 driver instead ? Guenter

@groeck: the Devantech usb-iss is not detected by i2c-dln2. Do I have to modify the source? As the Devantech device uses a PIC and DLN2 is a ASIC, I am not sure if it is possible to do what you have suggested.
